Hmmm. I just had a bizarre experience, involving a global news organisation and a trillion dollar corporation. (I got caught in the middle, so... owch.) It’s not the sort of experience the people involved usually talk about in public… so I think I’ll talk about it in public. 🧵

Honestly no idea. TS modules aren't great but are workable enough. But FWIW the TS type system is actually insanely complicated. It variously supports: gradual typing, structural subtyping, dependent typing, type combinators, multiple inheritance through mixins, ...

Controversial(?) opinion: Instead of "rewrite it in Rust", consider making something better that just happens to also be written in Rust. e.g. instead of rewriting grep, make ripgrep. It'll have a better chance of success.

StackBlitz is not only good for frontend development but it also fullstack development! With WebContainer you can build a frontend *and* a backend, and now you can even use a SQL database with SQLite3 🤯 Big shoutout to @_rvidal for building a WASM polyfill for `node-sqlite3` 👏

Men are constantly like "Unlike women I look at things logically instead of emotionally" and then tell you about how they haven't looked at any data or studies but they feel like the reason women don't go into tech is a lack of interest.
