For anyone who doesn't get this:
Consumer RAM is expensive due to AI, which has made common electronics become more expensive. That's not enough for these companies, they're now at the point where they want YOUR RAM.
Sam Altman says its bad that everyone's personal computers are using the world's limited supply of memory chips.
"Itβs quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the worldβs limited supply of DRAMs sitting in their own computer, and being used 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization."

AI. IS. POPULAR. BECAUSE. IT. GIVES. DUMB. PEOPLE. THE. ILLUSION. THEY. ARE. SMART. AND UNCREATIVE. PEOPLE. THE. ILLUSION. THEY. ARE. ARTISTIC.

Ai has killed my enjoyment of art online. The fact that I can't just look at a piece of work at face value and have to run through a checklist before I can meaningfully engage with/appreciate said work is infuriating.

weβve got no business catching what is clearly a minor god or powerful spirit of the river
A St Louis woman has caught a recording breaking fish in British Columbia.
It's an 11 ft. 4 in. white sturgeon.
It's officially the largest freshwater fish ever caught by a female angler at 1,200 pounds.
The fish was tagged and released.

I totally understand her because it just gets to a point. AI Exhaustion is real.
Everywhere you go has AI art on walls, AI posters on streets. So much of what you consume is AI. Your friends show you AI content. Your family canβt tell what is AI.
Itβs justβ¦tiring.

We desperately need Steam to let us filter out AI games. Force devs to tag their games with an AI tag so we can opt out of seeing AI games on our feed, just like we can opt out of seeing Adult Only games. Probably go from 8k demos to a couple hundred.

what generative AI loving devs don't understand that it doesn't matter if a game "only" used it for some assets, or "only some" code, or "only" text.
it's about trust. we can't be sure if you're telling the truth about how much or how little you've used. it could be all of it.
Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games.
You've got my support π

Steam Nextfest is upon us and if I see any AI generated shit in your game, I'm clicking ignore because I want to support human made games
Also, have the decency to be proud of your GenAI usage and let consumers opt out of participating in this farce.

A lot more people need to see this clip and how fucking self-victimising Ed Sheeran is. I am in shock how he constantly makes it about him. Macklemore was so vindicated for saying, he is not a victim, Ed is not a victim, and yet here he comes on the victim train. Fuck this loser.

insane victim mentality lmao itβs a stadium with metal detectors, strict bag policies, and his team worked with philly PD to beef up police presence inside + outside
Ed Sheeran admitted he removed a secondary stage out of fear for his physical safety.
"I didn't know what this audience would be like tonight. I didn't know if I would have things thrown at me. I didn't know if people would be angry at me."
