one reason i’ll never take the social ecosystem on here seriously is that, unfortunately, the algo has put that poor cornell woman on my tl at least a few times in the last 24 hours now. any platform that was actively trying to be responsible with this topic wouldn’t be facilitating her figurative stoning in the public square. but now that twitter is owned by one of the richest pieces of shit mankind has ever known, the easiest way to be successful on here is to be exactly the kind of freak who salivates at the chance to tear her down for suffering what was probably the most traumatic experience of her life. so when i see the amount of juice these weirdos get in contrast to any normal person with a lick of empathy, it’s a reminder of how far this shithole has fallen, and his purposeful this dynamic is. it’s less a social media platform, and more a machine that validates the most vile and opportunistic among us, which can only lead to more hate, more scams, more violence, and more rape.
