THREAD on the architecture & sculpture at the Hoysala era Chennakeshava temple, Aralaguppe. The temple is an Ekakuta (single celled) structure with a shatkonavimana (star-shaped tower). The garbhagriha’s outer wall and platform are shodashakona (16-pointed) star shaped (1)

Playing the 🎸 theme from the 80's hindi movie Karz. Song was originally composed by George Benson, it is called We as love. Predictably bollywood simply lifted the piece without giving credit to the original composer. A nice melodic song nevertheless. Check it out friends 🎶🎧

Temple stands on a 4 foot high adhisthana (platform) with a star shaped contour, matching that of the temple. The platform’s 5 kutas (cornices) are unworked & steps flanked by devakostha (niched towers) lead up to it. Originally sculpted gajas adorned the adisthana's points (3)
