“Otherwise law abiding” | thanks for saying it out loud @DavidAFrench
Mass deportation isn't just. It isn’t a triumph of the rule of law. It’s a product of Trump’s own hatreds and bigotries.
After pledging to deport the “worst of the worst,” he has decided to pursue otherwise law-abiding residents for deportation, even residents with American families. He has decided to detain people who are eligible for bonds. Again, that is not what the law requires. It is what Trump demands. nytimes.com/2026/10/29/opini…

This is the inevitable outcome of abortion.
It was never about “when does life begin?”
It was never about “clumps of cells.”
It’s always been about murdering “undesirable” babies.

If you tried to write the darkest possible parody of this movement, I don’t think you could do much better than “it’s important to support child-stranglers of color”
Room full of women on the Oprah show starts cheering after a doctor says that black female child murderers need to be supported too, not just the white child murderers like Lindsay Clancy.
"I want us to have the same passion for [female child murderers] who don't look like Lindsay."
"There are women of color sitting around this country in prisons for [murdering their children]. I just wanna remind us to have the pink shirts and the energy for them as well."
Totally insane.

A statement regarding the results of tonight's game between Michigan and Western Michigan.
This is the type of thing you post when your last post was totally wrong…
A skeptic might point out some “problems” but I’m curious why a fellow pastor would be critical of him sharing the gospel to millions of people…
The Howerton time video on why Jesus had to die is being shared and hailed as one of the best explanations of the gospel…but a skeptic would point out several problems with his story/analogy:
1. Why would stealing from the king’s treasury be punishable by death? That seems severe and arbitrary. And that’s why they would say about “small sins” from otherwise “good people. That is not just.
2. Why could the king suspend his law for his daughter? No one would view that as unjust; rather it would be noble. (The Greeks and Romans may have stories to support this.)
3. How can an innocent person die for a guilty one? In no court of law would that be considered just.
So the parable has problems on both issues of “just-ness” and mercy.
Whenever the atonement is collapsed *only* into a punishment frame, these problems persist.
Of course I believe Biblically that punishment is part of the picture.
But so is “infection” re Sin and “incorporation” re Jesus. Sin infects the entire human race. Jesus recapitulates the Israel story *and* the human story and does so to drain the poison and defeat the enemy. By our incorporation into Him (“in Christ”) we are saved.
Some of you are going to ask how I would respond, so I’ll post two videos from our “Objections” series below:
Ross is a MAJOR upgrade over the recently departed. Might actually watch some @60Minutes content more regularly…
Couldn't be more excited to welcome Ross Douthat, Sebastian Junger, Gianna Toboni and Trevor Phillips to @60Minutes and @CBSNews.

“I think Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent, I don't think Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning are generational talents."
