Today marks 3 years since Slippi introduced Rollback Netcode to the Melee community. To celebrate, I've released the first meaningful update to Project Clippi in over 3 years. This new v1.6.0 release contains several new features that I'll talk about in this thread. 👇🧵
Tailored a really nice combo profile and want to share it with your friends? You can now import and export profiles in the Combo Filter.
You can download the latest version of Project Clippi from the Github page. Let me know if you encounter any issues. :) Happy Rollback anniversary! github.com/vinceau/project-c…
The Slippi homepage has been updated to include the Slippi Launcher as the primary download for Netplay setup. This means no more manual user.json handling and controller driver installation through Zadig.
Tell your favourite content creators with Slippi setup tutorials to update their videos. I'm guessing it could probably cut the tutorial length by more than half. @radarssbm @Kira_SSBM
Finrei is my new favourite content creator. nitter.cf/Finrei_/status/1611262…
It's been almost 2 years since I first published my real-time Slippi parsing library, which powers Project Clippi. Really happy to see it finally being used for open-source custom HUDs!

Anyone who thinks that people do things in Smash only for the money are off their nut. Whether you're a TO, producer, modder, the fact that people like Ken, Fizzi, and UnclePunch can do Smash-related things for a living is an absolute miracle and they deserve every cent of it.
I wrote about Summit and my history with Smash:

Melee community. It's been a year since the era of rollback. After seven months of spare-time work, the newest desktop app from Slippi brings you:
✅ Redesigned interface
✅ Integrated login
✅ Auto-updates
✅ Replay search and sorting

Project Clippi v1.5.0 is here! With it comes a new-and-improved Automator with Slippi Dolphin support, as well as automated gameplay recording so you never have to trim black frames ever again! Download here: github.com/vinceau/project-c…
Here's an in-depth guide on how to record your Dolphin footage without any black frames. vinceau.medium.com/how-to-tu…
Did you know you can customize the stats that show up in Slippi Stats Graphic Generator? You can easily enable and disable different stats and rearrange their order too! Also, thanks to @davidvkimball, all the stage icons are HD now too! Try it out: vince.id.au/slippi-stats
I am once again asking for your beta-testing support! If you're familiar with using OBS to record your game play footage, are sick of trimming black frames, and don't mind giving me some feedback, shoot me a DM! Mac and Linux testers would be great but Windows users are fine too!

There are many new features I'm preparing for the next release but if I was to give one hint... let's just say trimming out black frames will soon be a thing of the past. 😋
This latest update for the Slippi Desktop App enables lots of exciting new features coming to Project Clippi soon, so make sure you grab this update! Give Slippi broadcasting a try too!
As a result of #FreeMelee, I decided to move up the broadcasting release. The release will be... now.
Originally I was going to monetize this feature but I am now releasing it free so that anyone can easily and freely run events. Give it a try!

As someone who loves to travel, Melee has allowed me to meet and play with incredible people throughout Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. In fact, my first ever tournament was actually in Osaka, Japan.
I distinctly remember playing friendlies with this Falcon main, and despite being unable to speak each others' languages, we were both able to just laugh and smile at the jank and beauty that is Melee.
They say that a smile is the universal language but for me Melee is the universal language. No matter which country I'm in, I know that there will be a welcoming community always down to meet and play this beautiful game. Happy 19th birthday, Melee! #WhatMeleeMeansToMe #FreeMelee
