I knew about gender biases in machine translation through research, but spending my free time correcting a test where every explicitly female "professor" and "director" suddenly became men really hits differently.
When you're tech-savvy, ask for help anyway, and the IT department answers with the equivalent of "have you tried turning it off and on again?"
