The other issue is people subconsciously view a videogame “being art” as “having a good story” and never consider the art of the actual gameplay experience

The issue with “Are Videogames Art?” discourse is that too many people fundamentally conflate “art” with “being good”. Plenty of art sucks shit and is still art

The U.K. gaming industry is contributes £6–12bn to the economy with tax revenue of £2.2bn. Yet like the TV industry and the BBC, its contribution is barely acknowledged by MPs, and is mostly only referred to when there’s a reason to accuse it of something. lordslibrary.parliament.uk/u…

Outside the Supreme Court, where the Palestine Action appeal hearing closed for the day, a man was arrested for saying, "In the UK, it's a crime to say, I support Palestine Action".
Police reportedly said it was due to the length of the pause between "crime to say" and "I support.."

We've gone from "supporting Palestine Action is criminal" to "opposing the proscription of Palestine Action is criminal" without any new laws being passed.
It should worry anyone when opposing government decisions has been made an arrestable offence.
This is the statement issued by the Met Police about the Defend Our Juries demonstration today. Commander Adam Slonecki, from Scotland Yard, said: “All those intending on coming to this event know that supporting a proscribed organisation is unlawful – they are essentially meeting to purposefully commit a crime.” This is a remarkable contrual of the law and extent of police powers. Surely it cannot be right that someone protesting against the Government’s decision to proscribe an organisation is automatically interpreted by the Met Police as supporting that organisation and is therefore committing an arrest-able offence. This is especially the case when the proscription is being challenged in the courts. I believe the government and parliament made the wrong decision in proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation and I continue to call for its deproscription by the government. If the people turning up today to demonstrate against the proscription of Palestine Action are to be arrested for simply turning up, are we all to be criminalised for suggesting the government got this wrong?

Israel’s 2024 “pager attacks” were, by definition, a terrorist attack.
The pagers exploded in the faces of many children, women, and even on-duty nurses.
Israel planting explosives inside pagers that Hezbollah purchased, also guaranteed anyone else who bought them would be subject to the attack.
This was not a precise attack, but instead an attack with guaranteed children casualties.

crazy that labour said they’d got it wrong and then decided to just carry on getting it wrong.

That’s more murdered children than hostages that were captured on October 7th, yet for some reason mainstream media hasn’t touched this story in over a year. This has never been a “ceasefire” by any reasonable metric.

And here it is. You, UK citizens, will be arrested on behalf of a foreign country, by your own police, the ones you pay for. This is @andyburnham's Britain.
Anyone planning to attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in the vicinity of the US Embassy on Saturday, 31 October will face arrest as part of a robust policing operation.
Expressing support for the group is an offence under the Terrorism Act following its proscription in June 2025, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal in June 2026.

We got a furious response from the former Conservative minister Lord Michael Gove when we asked about his position on Israel at the Labour Conference.
Gove claimed he knew more about antisemitism than Zack Polanski, the only Jewish leader of a major political party in the UK. He also accused us of not being journalists and of an obsession with Israel, despite the Labour government's change in position on the occupation of Palestine being the key topic at this year's conference.
Gove now sits in the House of Lords and is editor of right-wing magazine The Spectator.
