As Christians, we should be very careful of how we interpret the scriptures and the moral lessons we extrapolate from the written word. Don't take a position scriptures didn't take and try to become wiser than the context of the scriptures. Berating Jacob and exalting Esau is antithetical to the position of scriptures about where they stand in the context of scriptures. You'll understand God's position on the twin brothers when you study their national legacies (Israel and Edom). One was a God focused nation while one was an idolatry infested nation.
