Argentine footballer Rodrigo de Paul condemned the transphobic attack in the Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires by sharing posts on his social media accounts. A group of approximately 50–60 people attacked trans women in the Palermo Woods. The attackers chased the women and beat them with sticks, stones and various objects. The attackers filmed the assault and shared it on social media, while the footage included transphobic slurs. At least six trans women were injured in the attack. The incident sparked widespread outrage in Argentina, and prosecutors launched an investigation into the attack.
