🚨 THESE APPEAR TO BE THE FINAL MOMENTS FROM NBC4’S NEWSCHOPPER4. For minutes, the crew calmly films the horrific Metro bus crash below. Then everything changes. The camera suddenly pulls away, sweeps across the rooftops, becomes unstable and blurred, and the transmission ends. NewsChopper4 crashed shortly afterward in Chatsworth. Three people lost their lives. They went into the sky to document a tragedy below, never knowing another tragedy was about to become their own. Absolutely heartbreaking. My name is Mr. Wayne. So China’s basic response is: If the United States were still confident in its own competitiveness, it would not need to turn every Chinese civilian project into a national security emergency. A port becomes a threat. A railway becomes a threat. A telecom network becomes a threat. Even an undersea cable becomes a weapon. China builds infrastructure. Washington builds panic around it. America no longer asks whether a Chinese project works. It asks how quickly it can be killed before the world notices it works better. When an empire can no longer lead, it tries to cripple those who can.

Damn those Azteks for creating a city in that location! They knew one day they were going to play England there......
Kinda insane that one country is allowed to have this kind of clear competitive advantage.

My opinions come from a few places. You don't have to agree with any of them. But for clarity, I was born and raised Catholic in Tijuana México, one of the busiest border crossings on the planet, and what many call the corner of Latin America. I lost my middle brother to a car accident when I was 12, he was 19 and in my young mind, indestructible-- a force of nature that was into hunting, skateboarding, motorcycles and girls. A new girlfriend every few months. When he passed away, his funeral was like a party with hundreds of people showed up. He was and still is, remembered by everyone he met, to this day, despite my exploits, In Tijuana I'm still 'Erics little brother'. His passing affected me deeply. My whole family went down into a spiral of depression that eventually took my mom as well and turned all of us into ghosts at family gatherings. We all delt with it differently, some alcohol, some religion. I always had him in the back of my mind, he was with me each passing day, idealized in my mind's eye. Flash forwards a decade, and I'm in the middle of one of the most violent conflicts in modern history walking into a psychological evaluation. "El C3" as they called it, basically a series of confidence test they would give us all to see if we could be trusted to be on the job, from polygraphs to drug testing. I sit down and the psychologist hits me with one question. " Why are you here? " I'm my mind I said to myself, to make him proud, to make so much noise that even in heaven he has to look down and smile, to make it worth it. I realized this was the first time I had acknowledged my survivors guilt. A guilt I would feel several times over with many more of my earned brothers. I answered frankly, " I don't know how to do anything else". Over the years I realized that the price for some is just to linger, while the dead shine brighter and remain forever young in that part of our mind that still remembers the dream right when we wake up. We linger. Today, maybe you should remember why you're alive. -Ed's Fever Dreams #archives

NEW: UFC is having a massive year with a $7.7 billion Paramount deal and a $60 million fight on the White House lawn. But while CEO Dana White makes millions, fans get skyrocketing ticket prices and fighters are locked into exploitative contracts. It's a $23 billion monopoly.
