Hasan should face the death penalty, but making his execution public and streaming it? Beyond disgusting. Public executions are what oppressive dictatorships like Iran and Afghanistan do. It should not be happening in America.
The U.S. military plans to livestream the execution of Nidal Hasan, the ex-Army major who was convicted of the 2009 killing of 13 people at Fort Hood, when he faces a firing squad on Dec. 3, a Pentagon official said.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said earlier Thursday the Pentagon planned to make the execution public.
Hasan's case could mark the military's first execution of an American service member since 1961.

🚨 The Supreme Court has paused a federal judge’s ruling requiring Missouri to use its 2025 congressional map, allowing the state to return to its 2022 map for the November election while the case continues.
Resilience matters. So does changing what people are being asked to endure.
This week, I’m taking that question to the European Conference on Mental Health in Prague: how do we support people while improving the systems they rely on?

The constitutional crisis is statewide electeds thinking the law doesn’t apply to them.
“A republic, if you can keep it.” – Benjamin Franklin
Never before in American history has a court overturned a congressional map after a primary and before a general election. This unprecedented decision clearly violates federal law and has thrust our state into a full‑fledged constitutional crisis.
Our office will move immediately to seek relief from SCOTUS. We are confident that the federal courts will not allow every Missouri voter to be disenfranchised—which is what today’s decision does.

One of the honors I’ll always remember was offering the opening prayer during the final days of session this year. Our House rules require each legislative day to begin in prayer, and I was grateful for the opportunity. #moleg
Proud to see the my Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) legislation officially signed into law. It will go into effect on August 28.
Thank you to my colleagues, service providers, advocates, and everyone who lent their voice and expertise to make this possible.
