This is more than a venue: it is a powerful statement of commitment that young people deserve a seat at the table, their voices deserve to be heard, and their priorities deserve to shape decisions.

I received a delegation of young people from the Network for Active Citizens in Uganda and the Danish Network for Local Youth Councils, who are collaborating on a programme to strengthen youth leadership through the establishment and promotion of community youth parliaments. This is an important initiative that will play a critical role in nurturing the next generation of leaders, starting at the community level and progressing to the national stage. It will also provide young people with platforms to raise issues affecting their communities, engage in decision-making, and ensure their concerns are heard at both local and national levels. I thank our @DKinUganda friends for supporting this initiative and pledge my support whenever needed. Omoro County MP Hon. @AndrewOulanyah and Arua Central Division MP Hon. @MuzaidKhemis also joined us at the meeting.

Ampliying of youth voices is what the current generation should really embrace, because the only strong army and force that we have to make this world a better and more resilient world, is the youth. Tank you all that showed up for the activity. @NAUngdomsraad @danskungdom

Yesterday, Uganda’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament, @Thomas_Tayebwa, called for urgent climate action. Uganda cannot afford climate inaction, Parliament must fund prevention, protect ecosystems, strengthen resilience and hold institutions accountable before disasters deepen.

Today at Denmark’s Parliament, we explored democratic accountability, a government cannot remain in power against a parliamentary majority. A practical lesson in checks and balances.
