You were the greatest, it's very hard to understand that your favorite actors are not eternal and time flies too fast,

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we werenβt in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. βBut Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to riskβgetting lost in Hollywood for years and years?β. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in Londonβs West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

We just lost another screen legend today at 85 πποΈ
Elke Sommer, the German-born Hollywood actress whose international career stretched from The Prize and A Shot in the Dark to The Muppet Show, Carry On Behind and decades of film and television, has passed away at 85.
Sommer became one of the most recognizable European stars to break into Hollywood during the 1960s. She could play sophisticated comedy opposite Peter Sellers, step into thrillers and horror, appear alongside major stars such as Paul Newman and Bob Hope, and later bring the same unmistakable presence to television and voice work, Even voicing Yzma in the German dub of The Emperorβs New Groove (2000)
Some of her most memorable roles included:
β’ Maria Gambrelli β A Shot in the Dark
β’ Yzma β The Emperorβs New Groove β German Dub
β’ Inger Lisa Andersen β The Prize
β’ Linka Karensky β The Wrecking Crew
β’ Cleopatra / Herself β The Muppet Show
β’ Professor Anna Vooshka β Carry On Behind
β’ Lisa Reiner β Lisa and the Devil
β’ Vera Clyde β And Then There Were None
β’ Irma Eckman β Deadlier Than the Male
β’ Eva Arnold β Baron Blood
β’ Dr. Ilse Martin β The Six Million Dollar Man
β’ Didi β Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number!

β’ Countess Montparnasse β The Prisoner of Zenda
β’ Lisa Baron β The Money Trap

What made Sommerβs career remarkable was how easily she crossed borders, languages, and genres. A star who emerged from European cinema became a familiar face in Hollywood comedy, drama, horror, adventure, and television.
More than six decades after her rise to international fame, films like A Shot in the Dark and The Prize still preserve the elegance, humor, and screen presence that made Elke Sommer unforgettable.
Rest in peace, Elke Sommer. π¬ποΈ
