Growing up, Adegboyega was inspired by leaders who used their voices to bring about change and aspires to do the same himself, “I chose to major in Political Science because I’ve always been driven by a deep desire to understand systems of governance, justice, and public service.” Congratulations on your #SFU graduation this week and best wishes in your future! 🎓
FASS Dean’s Undergraduate Fellow and political science graduand, Emmanuel Adegboyega, will be giving student address at the convocation ceremony tomorrow, June 12. 🎓

When we funded hundreds of student beds at SFU in 2019, a local senior told me how much this meant to her as a renter who has lived near Burnaby Mountain for 30+ years. So thrilled to see these units are now available for generations to come! ☀️

We don’t see people or things the way they are, we see them the way we are. Prejudices inevitably colour the decision making of leaders. We think we’re rational but we’re not. The more we rid ourselves of fears, hatred, insecurity, pride, etc., the better our leadership.

You don’t get the best from a tea bag till you put it in hot water. Raise the temperature of your “water” by pursuing audacious goals. Endure the discomfort. Be amazed as you see your genius unleashed. If you’ve bitten more than you can chew, get others to help you chew it.

Dear Leader, leadership is taking people from A to B, improving their condition. That takes time. So, leadership is about the future. Where there is no discussion about the future, there is no leadership. What future do you see for your family, organization or nation? #leadership

Peace of mind is intangible wealth. Value it. It keeps your mind clear to focus on your goals. Be grateful, accept yourself, listen to music, go outside to enjoy nature, connect with those that love you, commit what you can’t control to God. Then, practice forgiveness nonstop.
