One year later, the Trump administration agreed to use taxpayer funds to buy the same abandoned prison from CoreCivic, Inc., for $495.6 million.

We shouldn't have to rely on midterms to save the country. Republican lawmakers should have had the patriotism and basic common sense to stop a compromised asset from destroying America from within a long time ago.

I think the polling undercount story of the year will be how many GOP (not MAGA) folks voted blue. The crossover is one of those un-pollable things because no one wants to admit leaving the tribe, even when the tribe is comprised of cannibal mental patients.
Here are some tips for smaller accounts looking to grow.
1. Remove the number strings from your handle. Nothing says "bot" like Jane7252748
2. Use a profile photo. It doesn't have to be you, it could be your pet, a character, or even a coffee cup. Avoid emoji pics like 🤔 or 🙄which are usually troll accounts.
3. TWEET. And retweet things you like. Post original content at least every few days, so people can get a feel for what you stand for, and so people know you're active on here.
4. REPLY to accounts you like. This is a great way to be seen by others, and big accounts often discover people in their replies.
5. Follow and engage with lister accounts, but do not blindly follow everyone on lists. Vet to make sure the people have original content, and also retweet accounts you like. Look at their replies to see how they respond to others.
6. Try to keep your 'follow to follower' ratio close to even until you reach 5K.
7. Don't get mad or pop off about people who don't follow back. Follows are earned - not transactional. This never changes, no matter how big you grow.

If you're like me, you're fluctuating between excitement, hope, and high confidence for the election, interspersed with bouts of nervousness, anger, deep concern, and an underlying sense of dread.
It's exhausting.
Real life is not social media.
The majority of people out there are not thinking about a fraction of the issues and headlines and topics we consume here daily.
They just want cheaper groceries, cheaper gas, and the cruelty and corruption to end.
