In 1 year I went from $2k months to hitting $20,000 in straight commission in Web3.
Here are my 3 biggest needle movers:
1. Put ego aside…stay curious
-> Ego is the worst enemy, puts you in your comfort zone. Guys at 8-12k per month struggle the most with this because it’s good enough money to live comfortably.
How do you overcome it?
Have insane level of clarity and stay curious. Curious in work, with people and trying new things. Ask more questions and gain more clarity. Max outs your stats like in GTA.
2. Charisma and confidence is a lethal combo
-> Charisma gets people to respect you and confidence instills trust. “Damn he the guy for this” moment.
How do you get it?
Hard to say but what helped me is setting tasks and getting them completed when I say I will…betting on myself. Charisma? Talk to more people on a daily basis.
3. Your work ethic is directly Correlated to your results.
-> You don’t need the best skill level if you simply work hard…be mentally crazy and make people scared of your work ethic. Show up early! Do what needs to be done(check last photo)
All this written at the barbershop today. Yours truly AK⚒️
Airport lounges are such a gamble
You either hit a jackpot
Or completely packed with shit food and no place to work
No inbetween
I’m so glad I’m in no position for a sales role
I came across someone hiring that is offering ÂŁ500 base and 5% comms for a setter on a unproven with no track record role
How does that even make sense?
Sales used to be the premium role
Now a lot of these guys treat it as expensive slavery
Glad I built this brand, Used Dealfuel and expanded my network
Otherwise it’s tough out there
I was speaking with a top marketing exec
And I realised he got added to the convo on tg….meaning he has no context on what’s going on at all
Instead of the usual setup where I go in with questions because I understood what they are about
This guy is cold
So I gave a tldr on common problems we see, who we are and why it matter to him
That single direction I took led to him talking nearly 80% of the time about everything he needed and why
This is again a prime example of sales isn’t rigid but more importantly the sales reps that are able to adapt to scenarios given to them
Will be the ones that come out fruitful
Having someone in your corner that will hold you to your standards you have set
Is what everyone needs
Sometimes things slip up and you need a gentle reminder of the standard you have set
Find that person and you will both operate at 110%
One way I see if someone is actually good at sales
Is what happens off the call
When you promised a lead to return material for them by xyz time
But more importantly how they communicate when things get in the way
Experienced sales reps keep prospects in the loop
Poor sales reps get prospects to follow
Up with them asking for the info they promised ages ago
One of the best things I’ve done
Is put leads I want to collect from on a sticky note
And stick that note onto my laptop
Everyday just stare at them and make sure I do everything I can to get them in
7pm Sunday and we are at the gym
1st November
Week is planned
And all leads I want are labelled on a sticky note
Gameplan? Keep doing what we been doing as it’s been working
Sales calls frame, pitch and flow
Communication
Research
Training
Oh boy this month going to be a good one…
Making money for the sake of money isn’t a flex
But how you use it
This year we summitted our first 4,000m peak
One of hardest mental challenges due to altitude sickness but an unreal experience
If you are alive and breathing one of the best things you can do
Is spend money on adventure and things that challenge you
Well well worth it
One of the best things I’ve done
Is learn to close from very cold cold outbound traffic
You can go more targeted but sales skills really get tested here
You develop push pull selling and realise product and market mastery is everything
Brian probably made 6 figs + from a deal and people still clowning him for taking 100 calls to get it done
Man huge respect
I see this as a “deal can never be lost when you know they are a buyer”
Next time I think a deal is lost I’ll just look at this and think “oh baby will get them eventually”
We are all in.
Really been enjoying sales more lately
Which has allowed me to think with more clarity
Work more
And the work that I’m doing making sure my inputs are better then before
All coming together.
I feel like a lot of sales reps overcomplicate use of ai
We got to remember our core goal is cash
That’s it
But once you start being like
“Oh let me connect ai to follow up with Bob every 2 days to say this then when I finish call message team this”
I feel like you spending more time worrying about optimising
Then doing the work itself
Don’t get me wrong I still use AI (mainly for call summaries for props and seeing patterns)
But the rest I like to keep manual
Keeps the fun and adds the personal touch
Most people would of given up after this
Lead went ghost, declined meetings
But showed buying signals from initial discovery
To me that’s sounds like a buyer
And I’ll do whatever it takes to get to him
Now the dynamic went from declining to negotiating for a bigger package
Truly unreal
After every close
I get into the pipeline and see what deal is next
Literally grab it by its throat and push it forwards
Experience truly shows what you do once a deal is done
Posting this to show you guys I get into situations like this too
Been a busy weekend of travel and was going to take a rest tomorrow
Boxing coach texts me “9am Boxing tomorrow?”
For a split second I was like hell nah
But then I realised it truly set me up for the week last week
I immediately replied “let’s do it”
No backing now
There is always temptations for the easy route
But the easy one never pays
And I wanna get paid well
CRM hygiene rn is impeccable
Every single lead is tracked
With accurate stage and next steps
Every lead that may be falling off I have next steps planned
And where I’m unsure conversations have already been had
So so much clarity on every step of the pipeline
Truly incredible feeling
Been a massive last 2 weeks in terms of progression
Highly recommend to take care of the in B2B
