Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending AGBU’s 94th General Assembly in Montreal, which also marked the organization's 120th anniversary. Celebrating this milestone alongside such dedicated people fills me with optimism and hope.
In an address at AGBU's 94th General Assembly earlier this month in Montréal, Canada, President Sam Simonian reflected on his first two years as AGBU’s eighth president.

In the Robert Pattinson-starring film "Primetime," composer and producer @aribalouzian combines complex rhythms with deceptively simple melodies. Alarming synthesizers, jazzy drums, and flutes create a new character for the movie, with a unique palette.

Azerbaijan must be held accountable for its human rights violations and ethnic cleansing of the 100,000+ indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh, and for illegally holding Armenian hostages despite signing a peace framework with Armenia.

“According to Freedom House, Azerbaijan runs one of the world’s most brutal police states, worse than China, the Taliban’s Afghanistan, Cuba, and Belarus. The world learned a lesson when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990 that revanchist rhetoric matters, especially when economic downturns force dictators to look for distraction. This is why the international community must take Aliyev’s continued threats seriously.”
— Michael Rubin, Director of Policy Analysis, Middle East Forum · Letters to the Editor, Oct. 27, 2026
Freedom House’s Freedom in the World 2026 report gives Azerbaijan a Global Freedom Score of 6 out of 100 — lower than Belarus (7), Afghanistan (8), China (9), and Cuba (9).

The Armenian cultural, religious, and historical monuments of Nagorno-Karabakh must be protected, and peace must be based on mutual respect and understanding.
Replying to @USEmbassyBaku
@USEmbassyBaku Demanding that Armenia amend its Constitution as a precondition for peace is itself a challenge to Armenia's sovereignty. A truly durable peace cannot be built on one side dictating changes to the other's foundational legal framework. Claims that Armenia is not committed to peace also ignore Azerbaijan's ongoing destruction of Armenian cultural heritage and the continued detention of Armenian political prisoners without due process. Peace requires accountability and mutual respect, not coercion. #ArmenianGenocide #Armenia #Azerbaijan #SouthCaucasus #TRIPP
