Three rocket nozzle components, printed in C103 niobium alloy, mechanical testing of the C103 parts produced using Morphing Shield Technology showed properties exceeding the minimum requirements of the ASTM B655 specification.
LabAM24 delivered the parts to KARI , the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, using their in-house gantry wire-DED system, printed with Aibuild CAM. Testing showed ultimate tensile strength of 470 to 495 MPa, yield strength of 378 to 445 MPa, and elongation of 22.2 to 29.4%, all above spec and comparing favourably to as-cast benchmarks.
Wire-DED gets there with over 95% material utilisation on an alloy that's expensive to waste, and LabAM24's chamber-free Morphing Shield Technology removes the size limits of a sealed inert chamber altogether. Aibuild CAM's role was making the software compute the gas flow alongside the toolpath itself, a capability built specifically for their process.
The process has been tested, and parts are delivered. Next is the firing test with KARI.

If you work with DED or WAAM process, simulation or manufacturing, this one is for you. Live at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, we're live with DM3D running a webinar on how GPU-accelerated thermomechanical simulation works, what it showed for a real DM3D part, and where it fits between toolpath planning and the first print. Q&A at the end.
Its CAM agnostic, up to 10,000x faster than existing solutions and runs on a GPU laptop.

The question behind this session is a practical one. What does it take for simulation to be used on every build in a production workflow? live.zoho.eu/lriq-ygb-moj
Join us and DM3D for 'GPU-Accelerated Thermomechanical Simulation for DED/WAAM: Enabling Predictive Simulation in Real Production Workflows'

Changing a build parameter is easy. Seeing its effect on temperature, stress and deformation is harder.
Here we walk through a new workflow in Aibuild FETS: running and comparing thermomechanical simulation versions side by side for directed energy deposition (DED) and wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM).
Each iteration’s results sit alongside the others, so you can compare the effect of a parameter change before committing material and machine time to a build.

A 60-hour DED build, simulated in 87 minutes on a laptop GPU. That's a full transient thermomechanical simulation of a DM3D part in Aibuild FETS. Thermomechanical finite element analysis (FEA) of a build that size has usually needed HPC hardware. At this speed, it fits inside the build schedule. At ICAM with DM3D we showed how this works in real production workflows and we're bringing the talk to a live webinar to walk through the approach, the results and how they hold up against the real part.

Engineering AI needs access to the tools engineers already use. A qualitative MIT study, based on 33 interviews across 28 companies, identifies higher-value agentic gains in coordinating multi-step workflows across tools, alongside near-term gains in structured, repetitive work and data-intensive synthesis.
The study identifies fragmented, machine-unfriendly data, stringent security and regulatory requirements, and legacy toolchains with limited programmatic access as key barriers to adoption. It also emphasises reliability, verification and human review.
That is the integration problem we built Aibuild OS around. It operates inside CATIA, SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion and Aibuild CAM, the software your team already uses. It does the job, hands back native STEP, DXF or G-code, and your engineer reviews and signs off.
Your team keeps its tools, its data stays inside your security perimeter, and the work gets done to your standards for your engineer to approve or reject.

Some briefs start as a paragraph, others as a sketch on paper. A Process in Aibuild OS takes either, or a photo of an existing part, and a Gate holds the result for review.
Which would you rather hand it?

An AI that knows how your team works is far more useful than one that doesn't. That was the focus of yesterday's Apps webinar, and the recording is now online here: ai-build.com/resources/aibui…
It shows the three new Apps in Aibuild OS taking on everyday engineering jobs: a 2D drawing turned into a 3D CAD model, a design model stripped back for printing, and a part built from a written description.
Then it gets to what matters longer term. Whatever your team teaches Aibuild OS, from your standards to your know-how, stays with your company and builds into a capability your competitors can't copy.

Seven swept blades, a keyed bore and root fillets, all from one written description. That's CAD Studio, one of the new Apps in Aibuild OS, now live in beta. The prompt set out the dimensions: a Ø160 mm backplate, a Ø44 mm hub, a Ø20 mm bore with a 6 mm keyway, and seven blades lofted through five sections. Aibuild OS built the part and exported it as a STEP file.
Plenty of large-format print jobs start with a sketch or a description, and someone has to model the part before it can be printed. With CAD Studio, you describe the part, refine it one instruction at a time, and every version is kept.
You can try it and build your own models on the Aibuild OS free tier. We're also walking through Apps live in today's webinar at 3pm BST, with a Q&A at the end

Type what you want into Apps and get a STEP file.
Using frontier LLM's like Claude Opus 5.5, OpenAi GPT-6 Astra, Gemini, Aibuild OS is able to output what you need in a ready to go format.

This is Draw2CAD, one of the new Apps in Aibuild OS. Upload a drawing sheet as a PDF, DXF, PNG or JPG and press one button. The agent reads the drawing, builds the model and hands back the STEP file.
There's no prompt to write, so the job runs the same way for every engineer on your team.
Apps is live now in beta. On 1st October at 3pm BST we're doing a live run through of how to use Apps and how to get the most out of Aibuild OS.
Registration means you’ll be one of the first to see it live, plus you’ll get the full session recording after: lnkd.in/ewQFSPgH
