As a father who just chose not to send my older son to public school, here's what's happening: 1. NYC public schools are full of woke, mentally ill people. The teachers, the students, the counselors, everyone is wacked out. If you're just a normal parent that wants a normal school with a normal focus on education, good behavior, friendship, manners, etc. you are shit out of luck. 2. While there are some good elementary schools, most middle schools are atrocious, and result in some of the biggest drops in education outcomes. Even if you send your kid to a good elementary public school, you're 100% going to move in time for middle school. And if you make it to high school, your only hope are the specialized schools, but mamdani the islamist is intent on destroying them, which would completely fuck your kids. 3. The average kid in an average NYC public school is stupid as hell. 70% do not read proficiently for their grade level. They can't do math. They have a ton of behavioral issues and are bad influences on your kid. As a normal father of a normal family I'm paying an absurd amount of taxes and for what? My hard earned money is being wasted on the comically evil teachers union, paying adult day care fraudsters, and subsidizing the "73% of public school students in poverty." This is just a scam. Those kids are not in poverty. Their parents work under the table, don't report anything to not pay taxes, and get ridiculous government subsidies. Everyone is running a scam and families like mine are paying for it. It's no wonder so many of my peers left and despite living in NYC for coming on 30 years, I probably will too at some point.

Born and raised in Portland, moved away in 98 but my whole family lives there so I visit once a year or so. Spot on article. Portland is a bit like Oceania in George Orwell's novel 1984 perpetually fighting an unseen enemy. Reagan, the Spotted Owl, deforestation , Nuclear Energy, Bush, Global warming, corporate greed, capitalism, Trump, the police, Racism, free Palestine , BLM, transphobia etc etc etc Whatever the soup du jour of causes you can be certain Portlanders are gobbling it up. The people there seem to have an unquenchable appetite for pointing the blame elsewhere and an allergy to looking in the mirror. But what do I I know lol

I observed in US: Indians shifted to US but never assimilated with locals and only interacting with Indian community. You flew 13,000 km
to land in the same WhatsApp group. Same Diwali, same gossip,
same aunty asking about your salary, just in a colder parking lot. Patel Brothers on Saturday,
TeluguHindi movie on Sunday,
your "American friends" are colleagues you've never had over for dinner. You didn't move to America.
You moved Little Lucknow
to a zip code. The visa changed your address.
Only courage can change your world.

Medicare For All is a delusional proposal. Universal coverage always ends the same way: societies can't afford it, systems become overburdened, wait times explode. Over 10 years, waits for elective care in England have ~doubled. Wait time in Canada for an MRI is up 42% between 2019 and today. Australia, Brazil, Mexico, it's all the same. How many examples do you need before you start acknowledging facts are facts? In every case a failing public system is paired with a burgeoning cash-pay private healthcare system used by the wealthy to avoid waits. This would I'm sure do wonders for class conflict and tensions over wealth inequality in the United States. It would be one thing to consider M4A if we were running a fiscal surplus. But with a $2T deficit, $40T in debt, and shaky 10Y treasury yields you have to be out of your mind. Young adults especially should be up in arms. It's tempting to see universal healthcare as a solution to the cost of living crisis we face. But just as rent control does not expand the supply of housing, universal healthcare is a golden calf that does nothing but double mortgage your future. We will live in poverty paying the debts of our parents. The way to get what you want is to make more of it. Have you considered that supply side reforms and embracing technology, particularly AI, might be the right answer?

If Elon Musk hadn't bought Twitter and fought back against the insanity of the last few years, the West would be much further down a path of self-destruction, self-hatred, and moral corruption • Pronouns treated like sacred scripture • State propaganda rebranded as "truth" and “misinformation” used to shut people up • Heavy censorship of anyone who disagrees • Child mutilation and sterilization sold as “gender-affirming care” • Birth rates collapsing while governments deliberately import a replacement population that refuses to assimilate and poses a threat to citizens • DEI over competence and merit • Open borders + cultural self-hatred as policy He called the woke mind virus anti-science, anti-merit, and anti-human for a reason. Without the fight he started, the damage would already be irreversible The woke mind virus is like The Walking Dead... it never stops coming. The fight has to continue or we risk the collapse of entire Western civilization

I regret to inform you that nobody cares about your potential. Potential is nothing without execution. When you're young, everyone cares about your potential. You get used to focusing on it. But as you get older, no one cares about your potential. Just your delivery against it.

Theyre literally burning and looting and Ro thinks this is the model for the US. We tried defunding the police. We cant afford more of this radical chaos in our country.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in. In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes. In Spain, for affordable rent and housing. In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption. @JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south. He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment. The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few. This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future. In America, let us listen to our young. We need an economic and political transformation. America's Next New Deal.

Oakland in one video.
CALIFORNIA COLLAPSE: Corrupt & Dishonorable Former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao Arrives in Court. She is directly connected to Gavin Newsom and The Bonta Crime Family. California families are hoping that this will the first of many politicians to actually be held accountable and forced to answer for the chaos and lawlessness they cultivated and from which they extracted direct political benefit via layers of fraudulent nonprofits and carefully cultivated “community organizations” which perpetuated the humanitarian crisis on the streets for financial gain as they secured campaign cash and loyal foot soldiers while the cities they governed deteriorated. Want to stop Gavin Newsom and The Bonta Crime family? Look no further than Sheng Thao.

For everyone!
I’m French. I want to talk to Americans who are about to vote Democrat. Not to insult you. To warn you. I come from your future. In France we did everything your progressive politicians promise. Free healthcare, free college, generous welfare, strong unions, heavy regulation, high taxes on the rich, a state that takes care of everything. Public spending close to 57% of GDP, one of the highest on the planet. On paper, it’s the dream. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. France hasn’t passed a balanced budget since 1974. Our debt is above 3,300 billion euros. Interest on that debt is becoming one of the biggest items in the national budget. Our hospitals are collapsing despite record funding. Our schools rank lower every year. Young people with degrees can’t afford an apartment in the city they were born in. Our best engineers leave for London, Zurich and San Francisco. And the rich you wanted to tax? They left too, and took the jobs with them. The promise was protection. The result is stagnation. The worst part is that nobody in France voted for decline. Every single step sounded generous, compassionate, reasonable. One more program. One more regulation. One more tax to fund it. Each step alone makes sense. Fifty years of them, and you wake up in a country that can no longer build a nuclear plant on time or keep its streets safe. I love America because it’s the one place on earth where people still believe they can build something from nothing. I came to Silicon Valley as a self-taught kid and it changed my life. That spirit is the most precious thing your country has. Before you vote, ask yourself one question: is the program you’re voting for making America more like America, or more like France? Trust me. You don’t want to be France.
