Instead of a remote worker, I’m going to start describing myself as a feral employee. – at Arden-Arcade, CA
Exactly. Whatever happened here, the incentives within Credit Karma are no longer aligned with the needs of the customer.
And that’s how you kill a product.
Is there a credit monitoring tool that hasn’t descended into a mess of deceptive advertising and spam like Credit Karma has?
Their weekly “a new card is on your account” emails that click through to a 6 year old card and an offer for a new card make them entirely untrustworthy.
If you’re worried that AI code is slop so you insist on humans… consider that AI has found vulnerabilities in decades-old human code. Several times. This week.
The last two days have been nuts for disclosures.
I don’t know the answer, but I know it’s not “humans should hand write all code.”
PHP, BIND, Gitlab, OVH, eMudhra, Juniper, plex, F5. What a week for security.
Is this what the apocalypse looks like?
Funny how perception doesn't match reality. Was in a minor car accident (I'm fine) and told the insurance folks that I was stopped for 15+ seconds before I was hit.
Then I looked at Tesla dashcam footage. I was moving 3mph and had slowed from 20mph 2 seconds before impact.
In a couple weeks, someone's going to win the World Series for the first time, and that's a great reason to watch every game. October baseball is great.

News story about the Tesla Roadster thrusters that noted it's the same tech tha blew up some SpaceX rockets, but didn’t bother to mention that internal combustion cars literally are filled with explosive fuel.
My hotel thermostat has four power settings: off, low, 2, and high.
I can’t stop thinking about the design process failure that led to this. Getting right should have been as easy as 1, 2, and C.

"Yes, you are correct. She actually did do work this week. I made up her poor performance. You should also know that I already gave her walking papers. You might want to fix that"
If her agent has an affair with her secretary's agent, her husband's agent will be pissed.

Maybe she can automate all the interactions with her husband and kids too, they can just have their agents message each other
Overheard an executive saying that now that she has AI, she doesn’t need to have 1:1s with her team, she can automate all of that.
And wow is that a bad take.
Time with your team is a high-leverage investment. It’s not a chore to automate.
