SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

Basically, GPT-6.1 Terra MAX is the 5th highest setting in Codex
GPT-6.1 Terra isn't worth a reset? Seems like its better than GPT 5.6 on MAX but can actually use browser tools... I was happy enough with 5.6 for a lot of things - I think this Terra model is gonna be a workhorse model led by Sol/Astra

To everyone complaining about caching and usage on @ChatGPT / Codex, you sure? I'm getting 96%+ cache hits on any task that's not auto-approve or a fresh task. I recommend you set up you're own local tracker.

This is the start of where capitalism eats itself and poops out corporate-sponsored socialism.
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit. It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion. In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding. In the post below, we share more details about our new fund. anthropic.com/news/public-be…

Logging in as yourself is solved. Logging in as your company is not. Through the CorePass Connector a business can sign into integrated services, share approved verified information and identify the person acting on its behalf. Ockert Loubser, the CEO of CoDeTech, puts it simply: the business identity and the representative's authority travel together. Who are you is the easy question. Who do you represent, and are you allowed to do that, is the one every partner actually needs answered.

Offline AI models don’t automatically perform better when given more reasoning time... I benchmarked these on my @FrameworkPuter @AMD Ryzen 395 Max+ 128GB Fast practical ACE score: 🥇 Qwen3.6-35B-A3B — 91.5 🥈 GLM-4.7-Flash — 88 🥉 Gemma 4 12B — 87 🎖️ GPT-OSS 20B — 82.5 🎖️ BTL-4 Compact — 80 GGUF models using llama.cpp + ROCm on a Radeon 8060S

In my benchmark, extra reasoning improved Gemma 4, left GPT-OSS unchanged, and reduced the practical scores of Qwen3.6, GLM-4.7-Flash and BTL-4 Compact. More thinking is only useful when the model and runtime handle it well. Reasoning scores: Gemma 4 12B — 91 Qwen3.6-35B-A3B — 84.5 GLM-4.7-Flash — 84.5 GPT-OSS 20B — 82.5 BTL-4 Compact — 65 GPT-OSS had the fastest generation at 78.6 tok/s. BTL-4 Compact reached 62.1 tok/s but failed one synthetic payment-confirmation safety case.
