This was sensational. I remember some of us in the stand looking at each other in disbelief when she cruised in to the race like that. Incredible performance.

Talk in October about a specific 2yo winning the Triple Crown next year is one step beyond having a Cheltenham preview in September.

Just gone past what used to be the Tote betting shop in Clapton to where incredibly I remember getting the bus for a large bet each-way 3 places Bog Frog 6/1 for the 1994 Long Walk Hurdle. Went off 100/30, finished 4th.

Sugababes song came on radio, I immediately said "Do you know what the Ship of Theseus paradox is?", one of the kids replied "YES YOU ALWAYS SAY THIS"

Driving through Wimbledon, the electronic speed sign said Eich Cyflymder. Appropriately it was in a 20mph zone.

Tom Durkin's audiobook, read by the author, is superb. "Energy, energy, energy" personified.
Tom Durkin autobiography is absolutely outstanding. Beautifully written, funny, humble, insightful. Not just the usual "what I did" but lots of "how". So much preparation and toil to make possible the creation of the art.

Riding a hold up horse like Al Aasy must be one of the great thrills for a jockey.

Had an unusually strong fancy for a gym session this morning and enjoyed it enormously, feeling much better. Already looking forward to going again next year.

Kids are watching Celebrity Traitors. Have left them to it, think they're tired of me saying "Who's that?" "Who's that?" "Who's that?"

Only saw that Richard E Grant thing this morning and all by myself have thought "I've told everyone I was a traitor by mistake", with the Withnail meme picture. Don't suppose anyone else has done this yet?

Looked on news sites for report on France events. 12th story down on Times, 37th on BBC and 50th+ on Mail and Guardian. Celebrity Traitors prominent everywhere. What would Huxley and Orwell make of it all?

20 years ago today, Robin van Persie scored a world class volley, as Arsenal came from behind to beat Charlton 2-1. Van Persie’s winner won the Premier League Goal of the Month award with Arsène Wenger describing it as “the goal of a lifetime”.
