You know what's different this time? The American left are showing themselves to be... really, really funny. Actually funny. Some of the content coming out of the previously "check your privilege" and state your pronouns people is really good. They learned from MAGA success.

A shameless appeal: I really need a job. I've years of experience in politics, PR, public affairs, comms and journalism, but I'm open to almost anything. Edinburgh/East Lothian, or remote. Full-time, part-time or freelance. All leads, introductions, shares hugely appreciated.

Blow it up. Preferably with the architect inside.
Developers have revealed their vision for the future of Argyle House, the brutalist tower block best known recently for its appearance in Netflix’s Department Q. Plans include a 400-room hotel, office space, and 130 flats. @heraldscotland heraldscotland.com/news/2670…

Look, this chap is clearly part of the moral and philosophical decay that has brought a once proud and peaceful country to this undignified state. ....but he sure has a knack for comic timing.
This piece to camera went so far off the rails so quickly. Filming in Niddrie on bonfire night… cameo by Police Scotland’s finest.

I know, us Scots and our anti-terrorism, what are we like?
Today is my annual reminder that I STILL find it weird Scots celebrate Westminster not being blown up by spending hard earned money on fireworks displays. Why? Just why?

Irvine Welsh and Kneecap are a natural mix. Both funny, in a way, and charming at times. But both feel just a bit out of date, old hat, quaint even, especially given how seriously both seem to want to be taken. 90s analogue politics in an AI world, despite the age of the latter.
🚨 GLASGOW 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 10am tomorrow we're releasing 250 production holds of STANDING tickets for our Dec 9th show at OVO Hydro. 🔴Be FAST. And didn't the legend @IrvineWelsh only go and write a few words for us for a wee poster. 🔥

Scotland can't even get two bands of Christian Weegie football fans to get along. Pipe down.
Scotland always stands against racism.

Delighted to contribute some words to this essential campaign. We can’t let the NIMBYs and whingers win again! Granton needs that tram!

Oh just listen to them! If it was up to our political class, we’d all know how to code but Shakespeare would lie forgotten. “I could write a really good poem?” No, ma’am, because if you could you wouldn’t join in this absurd chorus dedicated to making calculators out of us all.
“I left school… I knew algebra, I could write a really good poem, but I had  no idea what a mortgage was” The SNP’s Jim Fairlie, financial analyst Anna Macdonald, and Scottish Lib Dem Sanne Dijkstra-Downie debate education in Scotland Watch now: bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0033wd…

And if you find yourself talking to imaginary unionists, contact your GP.
I spoke to a staunch Unionist today who declared London is the legal capital of Scotland; this is an astonishing lie, as Edinburgh has been Scotland's legal capital since the early 1430s. Why do they fwwl the need to come out with such nonsence ? It truly baffles me.

“Woke is Back” is funny. But for god’s sake don’t actually do it. That’s why they won.

There’s a big Scottish political question that continues to go unanswered. She was in power for ages, but can you name me one single Nicola Sturgeon achievement that didn’t benefit only her and her party?

Hear hear! Such a pro!
a great pleasure to see @jamesmatthewsky receiving deserved praise for his handling of that totally fucking weird scene.

Edinburgh Council actually holds the record for the world’s shortest Bible. It just says, “thou shalt not.”
This is decline. The Edinburgh Tram has supported £600 million of investment. But the Council is REFUSING to give everyone access. 3,500 homes are being built in Granton on the promise of a tram to the city centre. Now the Council won’t build it. The result? 👉 People in Granton, Muirhouse & Pilton shut off from jobs. 👉 Companies choosing to locate elsewhere. 👉 More cars & more congestion. 👉 Poor access to Edinburgh College, Craigleith Retail Park & hospitals. Granton once had a tram. It deserves one again. The Council has the power to BRING BACK THE TRAM. Help us force them to do it. Tell your Councillor to finally finish the tram👇

2006: Tram approved 2026: Tram still not finished Why? The Council are prioritising the interests of an organised NIMBY campaign over the people of Edinburgh and Granton. This has to END. LFG Edinburgh has been campaigning on the tram for two months. They’ve had support from the local Granton council, residents & other transport groups. Today, local MP @tracygilbert72 joins our campaign. Support our local chapter. Share this video. LFG 🚀🚀
Edinburgh's trams were SHUT DOWN in the 1950s. 20 years ago, the Council APPROVED plans to rebuild the network. It’s STILL not finished. Only part of it was ever built. On the 10th December, councillors can BRING BACK THE TRAM. Time to FINISH the job. Support the campaign 👇

Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.
