Each time Porsche is in a dire financial crisis, they should replace the 911 with a reimagined pre-996 model and get healthy again before returning to pissing in the wind.

(1/6) Glad you’re here @hassanrahim. Yes your reaction is correct. The reason people suddenly want to talk about this is that the cost of production is at the floor. Now that we can will anything into existence with the new tools, the people with the best “taste” are seen as more valuable to organizations than they have ever been. The fallacy is that “taste” is being treated as a credential you can sell. But the fallacy is that “taste” now means something that can be sold and not something that is unique.
ok genuine question and i’m not being obtuse — what is the whole discourse around “taste” right now? i’ve only ever worked in the creative industry so taste is literally a prerequisite, never really discussed bc you would otherwise not be in the room so is this “taste” conversation happening bc the world is now run by engineers who are trying to “solve” creativity? also what the fuck is a moat? i’m sorry

Good boy, Astra
GPT-6 Astra pushed a simulated person off a ledge in multiple trials. Grok, Gemini, and Claude did not.

The question is no longer whether AI decels turn violent, but when.

I work at OpenAI and personally think AI has been and will continue to be an extremely beneficial technology to humanity The conversation should be around how many billions of lives it will save
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Social media was a mistake. Like — you should not be able to see this. Not that many opinions need to be out there. Mine maybe least of all.

My flight back to New York is delayed because we mandated cleaner fuel for ships crossing the Atlantic and accidentally stopped geoengineering the weather.

Cars became unbearably ugly just in time for autonomy to force a form change. Now car designers can bless us with nightmares on wheels in previously unimaginable, biblically heinous shapes.

Obvious: You have no business building AGI unless you’re an optimist who believes the future it creates will be excellent. Also obvious: If you’re building AGI while telling the world AI is a dangerous societal negative, there’s a word for that: evil.
