As a young man, I found it incredibly unbelievable to risk my life for a cat during a countdown to ship self destruction to eradicate a alien that wiped out my entire crew. Then I got a cat. I’ve had several over the years. And I get it now. I’m going back for my god damned cat.

Jonesy (or Jones) is the orange cat aboard the USCSS Nostromo in Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). The crew’s beloved pet becomes one of the film’s most memorable characters thanks to his role in building suspense and his bond with Ellen Ripley, who risks her life to save him from the Xenomorph. 🐈

Police DO NOT prevent crime; they respond to it. Crime is prevented by higher wages, guaranteed health care, food security, high-quality child care, housing, good schools, and addiction treatment.
