V fun and surprising data viz but I don't think it tells us much about the relative tribalism/grudge-holding of leftists/centrists.
The leftists don't have a realistic voting option that they agree with more than the primary winner.
Many of the centrists might!
Think the @HaleyforMI @AbdulElSayed saga is totally bonkers? The data agrees with you.
It’s also a part of a wider trend - the left’s donors don’t hold grudges. The establishment’s do
I bought some drinks at a bar in the US and I waited like 5m at the bar after I ordered, had to sign a physical piece of paper, and it was generally the most inefficient ordering experience of my life.
Seems bad that you're allowed to sell a substantially worse version of a medical device and the public can't easily distinguish the two.
Also a weird example of a real Brexit Benefit™️ that we're not exploiting
Stop using FFP2 ear-loop respirators!
Stafford Beer just needs to take the L on this one. POSIWID communicates something meaningful and interesting but only if you have the cybernetics context. Otherwise people rightly interpret it as complete nonsense.
It fails at the main aim of a pithy phrase!

A little over a year ago, @cremieuxrecueil shared the results of a bombshell study purporting to demonstrate that Black-White IQ differences in the United Kingdom have a largely genetic basis. In my latest article, I argue that this result is not trustworthy and challenge Crémieux to prove otherwise.

The government's independent review into the prevalence of mental health conditions like ADHD and Autism is (at least) 50% AI slop.

"None of these positions can be easily dismissed, and each captures something real"

Small-scale farmers in low-income countries are solving an incredibly sophisticated portfolio optimization problem under difficult conditions.

Replying to @UCSDEcon
Does cash enable farmers to take on more risk? @vinnyarmentano applies Modern Portfolio Theory to crop choice in Mali and shows instead that an unconditional cash transfer reduced portfolio risk with no return penalty.

I can think of like two extremely narrow benefits to technology and like a million extremely bad ones. Ban it now man.
If this gets out unregulated for long enough to build public support, we're cooked.
The whole point of building Tavus has been simple: talking to a machine should feel as natural as talking to a friend or coworker.
It’s hard to describe all the tiny nuances that make a conversation feel human. The little expressions. Moving around in your chair. Knowing when to speak and when to listen. The dance of it all.
Griffin is by far the closest anyone has come to a model that can capture those nuances. The first time I saw it being used, I had no idea I was watching our model rather than just a normal video call.
I’m so incredibly proud of this team and what they’ve built.
