There has been no steady electricity for days, and most times, we don't get back home until around 7 p.m. When power was finally restored,it was low current, we were able to pump water.
Since then, people in the neighbourhood have been coming to fetch water from our house. Some said that they don't even have a single drop of water at home. most houses in the area don't have boreholes or wells, so they depend on neighbours who have boreholes. And even then, not everyone is willing to give out water.
We decided to put a tap outside so people could easily fetch water. However, they can only do so when we're around because,we could come home one day and find that there's no water left in our tank.
I had hoped to get a separate tank for them so people could have access to water even when we're not home, but the estimated cost was more than we could afford at the moment.
I hope Nigeria changes for the better.
