New article in my blog: Responsible education in computing.
I talk about the new computer I'm gifting my daughter on her 7th birthday, and why I believe it's important for everybody to get educated in computing.

just received notice that an Eng leader here at Cloudflare who moved to Portugal from the US has had his residency permit denied
in the months he has been waiting for one, he has hired five full-time engineers and six interns here in Lisbon. alongside the hundreds of others we employ here
@govpt @mpresidencia_pt the immigration insanity here is making it increasingly hard to just operate a tech office in Lisbon much less grow one
I'm happy to announce my new project: genplis 🎶
genplis is a CLI that generates M3U playlists for a music collection. You define the filters that you want, it scans the songs, finds matches and generates the playlists.

I run genplis on a timer so it refreshes the playlists automatically. This way I add new songs to my collection and they appear in the right playlists automatically.

Windows and MacOS are still untested.
If you find any issues please open a report!

A bon entendeur.
Quick, somebody create a plugin for @omarchy.
I was 13, 1995, a hipermarket had set up 2 computers with Internet access. I searched for docs and tutorials on graphics programming in x86 assembler. I was obsessed with demoscene at the time and couldn't find any books about it.
I pushed my father for Internet access at home. 14.4kbps modem and 10-hour per month at first. It was connect, quickly search, browse, download and disconnect.
