So apparently white Americans in Minneapolis are putting Mexican flags on their cars so ICE agents waste time pulling them over. They call it ICE fishing. 🤣😂

it rules that the city, gifted weeks of snow-free weather and softened ice pack, threw its hands up and decided large swaths of midtown Anchorage would just be down a lane until Easter

Anchorage has a lot of places you can legally build a 3 or 4 plex... except when you just can't. 1: Many are on lots zoned for it, but minimum lot size goes up by unit (more than 6000 SF). Only 1/4 of lots are big enough. 2: Code treats 3+ units as a commercial building. Why? 🤷‍♀️

Update: muni pothole ruined our tire (hole in the sidewall) and bent our rim. Looking at $1500+ in repairs, minimum, possibly as high as $3000. Incompetence has a price tag, indeed. #thanksbronson #ancgov

From the outside looking in in: Anchorage had the opportunity to hire @ForrestDunbarAK as Mayor and chose a putz instead. Hope you all are happy with your choice.

There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow. It is the still ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass, every spire of reed, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance.~Fiona Macleod NPS Photo/J. Walton

It's 3°F (-16°C) and the bus driver just disembarked the bus to take off his gloves and give them to a passenger who didn't have any. Look for the helpers 🥹

I miss the days when Anchorage had this type of snow removal.

When routine services don't work, we also don't "save" public money - it all comes back around to emergency responders: the most costly service we have. All that time means they can't respond fast enough to other needs.

Bronson said that they completed the municipal snowplow plan last Friday at noon, ahead of schedule. Does he believe that residential streets are not part of the municipal snowplow plan?

Good news: they plowed my neighborhood for the first time in the six days since the storm. Bad news: this is a before and after of the sidewalks my neighbors and I were keeping clear for each other.

City resources should be allocated equitably, not just who complains louder(gives Political $). Any “help” the city is offering DOT should go to high density roads that have transit services and pedestrians on them. NLights/benson/A/C/Minnesota #AncGov #TitleVI #ADA #Anchorage

Multiple state-maintained roads in Anchorage have been especially rough to drive on, and the city is helping clear some streets (like Dimond Boulevard and main thoroughfares on the Hillside) that the state has struggled to work on. adn.com/alaska-news/weather/…

Anchorage is a winter city. We know it’s going to snow here. I’m as frustrated as you are about the lack of preparation and response. I’m frustrated to be living in a community where residents can’t safely drive to work or the grocery store. #Anchorage #ANCgov #VoteSuzanne

can’t claim to be a pro business mayor or governor if your budget cuts mean hazardous conditions that shut down a whole cities’ worth of small businesses, where in the past basic plowing was a funded option – at Anchorage, AK
