Hoffman is the 49-year-old Waco, TX attorney who faced life without parole for repeatedly raping a young boy, until Texas AG Ken Paxton offered him 1 day in jail and no need to register as a sex offender. A judge increased his sentence to a whopping 60 days. He got out in 30 days.

This revenge language is a disturbing way to talk about war.
Our Military power isn’t supposed to be about “punching people while they’re down” or celebrating destruction from the sky. Professional armed forces operate under the law of armed conflict, proportionality, and civilian protection.
American strength has always been tied to discipline and legitimacy, not chest-thumping about devastation. When Hegseth frames war like a bar fight instead of a grave responsibility, he undermines the very standards that separate a professional military from the forces we criticize.
