- OpenAI announced 3 discoveries about harmonic analysis, complexity theory, and quantum field theory.
- Giotto AI, a Swiss company, launched two new models: Giotto Alto (hosted on European cloud infrastructure), and Giotto Solo (runs on a single GPU, so organisations can keep their AI on their own infrastructure).

These are the stories that caught my attention, the list is not exhaustive. Let me know if I missed anything!
Does having the right plants in your bedroom improve sleep quality?
I have spider plants and snake plants in my bedroom, both known to filter air and remove certain pollutants. Don’t know if they make any difference though.
I also like the bit of color they bring to the room.
Looping in the expert - @bryan_johnson do you have plants in your bedroom?
My thoughts about people being bored while using AI to code: you just need to get better at multitasking.
We got a crazy amount of time while waiting for agents. If all you do is scroll social media, no wonder you're bored.
You have to learn to use this extra time productively.
I would rather say that it is more difficult to get into a flow state and stay there.
My focus breaks often when waiting for an agent. I check X, emails, grab something to drink, and just like that, flow is gone.
coding with ai is incredibly boring, change my mind
developers are problem solvers, there is no fun or gratification in writing prompts for a machine to do the work
coding exercises the brain, and when the novelty wears off from having ai generate features quickly... are we just glorified copywriters with tech knowledge?
Workout tip: do squats on a balance board
You're now also improving your:
- balance
- coordination
- core
- and stabilising muscles
Is this how we'll arrive at AGI?
The model continuously optimizes weights and that's it.
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

You know the feel when a talk is more like a performance, and you get chills just from watching it at home?
This is one of those
Hats off to @davekiss 👏
i've been to 132 conferences in 11 countries.
this is the best talk I've ever seen in my life.
a coffin on stage
projection mapping
auto-advancing hands-free slides
and fascinating storytelling
@davekiss's talk had it all.
Plus, being a good enough writer will be a competitive advantage in the very near future. With almost everybody sounding the same thanks to AI, the bar is pretty low. Just don’t sound like AI!
People tend to realize @Steve_Yegge was right 6-12 months later. Once I figured this out, I listen to him when he says stuff. Like this:
"Having a fit brain will be a key differentiator in the new era. Just do more of [writing], every day, to get in shape and stay in shape."
This is a really sad story and I really hope Eric finds a way out.
But it is also a tale about why you should invest. Especially on a time horizon of 28 years, with this high of a salary.
Three years ago, I earned $500k/year in tech.
Today, I’m homeless, living in my car.
28 years of experience. Three technical books. AI engineer since the 1990s.
And I can’t find a job.
My story is a warning about the future of work.

Anyone feels like the algo update tanked their impressions?
I'm getting noticeably less impressions per post in the past few days.
