Great meeting every year. Don’t miss it!
Twenty years ago, we started the Western AF with one goal: to bring together the brightest minds in electrophysiology to improve the lives of patients with #AFib. I’m incredibly grateful to our faculty, attendees, industry partners, & the team who have made this meeting what it is today. I look forward to celebrating this milestone with all of you in Salt Lake! @drjohnm @PrashSanders @S_NarayanMD @DJ_Lakkireddy @TinaBaykaner @DrJasonAndrade @LuigiDiBiaseMD @Phiso_de @HRSonline @AndreaRussoEP @netta_doc @HanFengGHD @chris_sohns @lamcardio @DrBradleyKnight @ArashArya_EP @JamilFrancisMD @DrRoderickTung @leftbundle @OmarKreidieh1

This an important piece of data by our team further stressing the need for better risk stratification models (? Personalized models) in the era of #AI. @SteffelJ @netta_doc @AndreaRussoEP @drjohnm @EricTopol @Ed_Gerst @CMichaelGibson @PrashSanders @SanaAlkhatib9 @Drdevignair @DrMarthaGulati @TulaneTriad
A study of 900,000+ patients with AF found that female sex is not a uniform independent stroke risk factor. Higher risk emerged mainly in women aged 75+ with additional cardiovascular risk factors, reinforcing the need for individualized risk assessment. jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacad…

One of my favorite slides from @nmarrouche highlighting the important concept that *increasing* #AFib Burden is associated with *worse* outcomes overall It’s no longer about just finding AFib, it’s about how much and how long. #WAFib2026

Adding: @nmarrouche 🎯 ⚡️What is the burden that's relevant for our patients? HFpEF ⚡️Atrial function is important to take into consideration especially in these population. Opens Q: how much ablation is too much & what is the definition of burden? #EPeeps #WAFib2026

Great meeting and discussions that allow all of us to see both sides of the story!
Bringing the 🔥 @drjohnm brings the case AGAINST concomitant #LAAO at the time of #AFib #ablation - highlighting OCEAN, ALONE-AF & lack of evidence! Ablate, and then stop #DOAC if successful - LAAO should await ablation results. #WAFib2026

“The scientific success (i.e., 30 sec of AF) is not always the patient’s success…” Always extremely insightful talks and comments. We should all listen…
“Periodic monitoring is absurd” - @EPrystowskyonEP on detecting/determining #AFib #Ablation success (Do you agree?) #WAFIB2026

Yes, at least at the “doses” in the study - 1 cup per day. This is consistent with prior observational studies.
Unexpected effect - should we stop telling AF pts to reduce caffeinated beverages?
