"We should criticize AI-slop — because it is slop, not because it is AI-generated."
Stop the AI scold; focus instead on the substance of what the AI makes

Probably the funniest graph ever published by the FT: our 3 possible futures are either 1) infinite wealth and abundance, 2) human extinction or 3) 0.2% faster GDP growth 🤣

IMO, the housing crisis is directly about fashion — Tailors can't make a living bc of high rents — People can't afford nice clothes bc of high rents — Collapse of creative scenes, such as musicians and artists, bc of high rents. Aesthetics become uglier & homogenous as a result

I like em dashes, and I hate that some people now take them as evidence of text being AI generated.

we are already surrounded by infinite possibilities to learn. libraries, wikipedia, even youtube. but without a compelling reason why that knowledge is valuable (which AI totally undermines), the vast majority of people simply dont. this tool will be used to avoid human cognition

ngl this is one of the most compelling pieces of media i have ever encountered. there’s something incredibly counterintuitive about what’s going on here and it’s wrinkling my brain

the internet needs radically simpler ways of building software. otherwise we’ll forever be stuck in the prison of apps that only bigtech and VC hyperfuel can afford to build. who’s working on this? who else is interested this? 30-50 eng working on top of existing infra/code 😵‍💫

Great question. This is called "twin films," and often happens when 2 or more production companies invest in similar scripts at the same time—resulting in a race to be first to market. Here are a few other examples 🧵

We’ve seen a gazillion startups using OpenAI APIs to do “co-pilot for X”. What’s next? Enter *physical* co-pilot! Here’s a compelling demo: you improvise by playing a “low resolution” piano, and the co-pilot compiles it real-time to Hi-Fi music! It unleashes our inner pianist.🧵
