Tricky harvest so far, with quite a lot of drying required, so dug out the % equilibrium moisture content and % air relative humidity charts from an old ADAS booklet .

Verticillium was quite obvious in many crops when checking for desiccation timing, but as fields are cleared it is much easier to assess how widespread it is by looking at the remaining stems. Bound to have reduced yields in many crops looking at infection levels. Variety rethink
Lots of adult #csfb present in the harvested 2023 crop, so collecting a sample from the sides of a trailer to go off to be tested for pyrethroid resistance. Tricky insects to get into a bag. Concerned about prospects for the 2024 osr crops already.
Potatoes looking fantastic in Notts today.#potato #lambweston
Maize head high by 4th July!! First time I have seen a crop this advanced on this date, but back to earth on 5th July with a much later sown field. #maize
