I love Letterboxd. Not because I personally live and die by it. But from my viewpoint it seems to have gotten a whole new generation very excited to rush to theaters to see new films and discuss them. I love that for movies.

I hate Letterboxd. I will always hate Letterboxd. It's a toxic, performative place, full of tryhards and idiots. Your reviews aren't good. They aren't funny or wise. You are not erudite enough to articulate your written thoughts on a movie in a way that adds ANY public value.

In 2021, I found pretty fast success a couple years into screenwriting, signed with representation, and attached a well-known actor to a thing I wrote. In 2026, I just wrapped on a no-budget short film about a fart. Trying to break into the film industry is wild, lol
