“Lucky Man” was written by Richard Ashcroft for The Verve’s 1997 album Urban Hymns. Released on 24 November 1997 as the album’s third single, it reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 16 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart.
The UK video, directed by Andy Baybutt, was filmed at Thames Reach in Hammersmith, with Ashcroft on acoustic guitar and the band ending up on the roof. A separate US version was shot in New York and on a mountaintop. Bono later named “Lucky Man” as one of six songs from 1986 to 2006 that he wished he had written.
Next person who knocks I’m saying trick, see what they’ve got! We were armed with flour and eggs back in the day! Now, they’ll probably put me car window through 😂🎃👻
Got tickets for me and the daughters.
Couldn’t get Manchester tickets so just got to work out how I’m getting to London and back 🤔
McConnell and Koumas struggling to make an impact and both been booked so could see them replaced at half time.
Liverpool the better team but we haven’t got that clinical edge upfront #lfc
