In a few years, Europe will be governed by right wing governments, and they will read your encrypted messages, prevent you from posting and reading ideas they disagree with and even jail you for wrongthink, and the current governments create the laws making that possible
This is what treason looks like. @EP_President Metsola just sold out the privacy of European citizens to her Big Tech paymasters, despite a majority of parliament voting no. #chatcontrol
Smiley!

This is insane. In response to Project 2025, the issue the Dems decided to run on with Project 2029 is requiring ID to use the internet. This is literally what Big Tech wants, as the collector of all those IDs. This is not going to be a winning platform. semafor.com/article/06/28/20…
Let me get this straight. PM Starmer, who is about to be ousted due to Epstein stuff, decides for his legacy, he must "protect the children" by requiring ID to use the internet in the UK? Let's just be clear, there's no such thing as age verification for children only.

As the AI boom is minting billionaires by the day and the first trillionaires are now coming into view, one thing is becoming clearer and clearer:
The battle between democracy and oligarchy will be the defining battle of the 21st century.
Good news from the US today. AICOA, a bill that cracks down on anticompetitive practices from Big Tech was re-introduced in the Senate with bipartisan support. My quote in the Senate press release explains why @ProtonPrivacy is supporting this legislation: judiciary.senate.gov/press/r…
Terrible, and also misleading because the "Common Sense Reforms" actually expanded the scope of surveillance without meaningful safeguards. Here's what actually happened during the "reforms" in the last reauthorization: brennancenter.org/our-work/a…
Proton’s contribution of humanitarian aid isn’t expressing a political opinion, it’s expressing our humanity. Politics has nothing to do with it.
So Signal, which much of Europe also relies upon, apparently runs on AWS, which is not great from a tech sovereignty standpoint. An European alternative not run on Big Tech cloud will be necessary to safeguard strategic autonomy.
