Yesterday’s unanimous, bipartisan First Circuit ruling in the “D.V.D.” case, setting aside DHS’s policy for sending noncitizens to 3d countries, is remarkable. If upheld, it means DHS has deported 1000s illegally—enabled by SCOTUS, which lifted a preliminary injunction in June 2025.

really fascinating article about sending your privileged kid to segregated public schools in an effort to help society. little individual choices rarely influence society writ large, and in education your virtuous individual choices may directly damage your kids.
my kid is in a (relatively inexpensive and fairly diverse) catholic school & he has gotten so much attention whenever his performance has slipped below grade level. i sometimes get shit from progressive friends about my choice (which initially had more to do w/covid than society)

An 11th (!) officer from FCI Dublin - the "rape club" prison closed in 2024 - has been charged for allegedly sexually abusing two prisoners there.
Wildly, he was a *disciplinary hearing officer* responsible for decisions on inmate discipline.
