agreed. bc winning a WDC at such a young age takes so much more than talent. his mentality and adaptability are precious qualities + having a supportive family and team plays a big part.
He's truly blessed to have right opportunities, at the right time, with the right people 🥹

Toto Wolff criticises Red Bull and Ferrari if Kimi was their driver
"If he had been at Ferrari or Red Bull, they never would have put him directly in the best car"
"They would have sent him to a small team, like they did with Bearman"

Toto Wolff on his decision to put Andrea Kimi Antonelli into a Mercedes following Lewis Hamilton's departure from the team:
"I never felt it was difficult because the team was always behind that decision. Ola (Källenius) was always behind that decision. There was never doubt. Doubt came from outside. Doubt came from people who were partners to the team and are not anymore. From other teams. From other drivers that felt they should have gotten a shot. From the media. It started with, you know, you can't be possibly serious about putting an 18-year-old in the car that is Lewis Hamilton’s car. To, you know, he had an underwhelming Formula 2 season. He should do another year in Formula 2. I proved that he's actually good enough. Then, putting him in the car, people saying, you know, he shouldn't be in a Mercedes. Much, much pressure for him. Why didn't you try to achieve a deal with Williams? And give him, like George, a year, two or three to develop. Then those voices got louder after, you know, nine consecutive races without a point, the tears in Spa. Suddenly, I told you so. We're getting more oxygen. For us, for me, it was never a single doubt. It was the season that I expected to happen. It was at least a two-year project, with the second year needed to confirm what we saw in him. And I guess today we're sitting here and we have the confirmation."
