Me with two of my best friends today. I was an upbeat, idealistic child, hungry for meaning and connection with others. I got ground to paste. Now as an adult they've thanked me for the person I was, but I only feel an ember of that fire left in me now. It hurts.
Every day I wonder about those dudes online who used to call me a faggot when I was but a young teen online...
What were my tells? What gave me away? Was it the girl characters?
Anybody else just utter a string of completely unintelligible gibberish when stubbing your toe or hitting your head? Because I just keyboard smash that shit.
I think in adulthood, I've come to understand trust as being this vague sense of cooperation and good will that you have with someone. Like a space to comfortably be yourself with someone, explore, and grow in their presence. It's imperative for connection.

Not cumming on a sunnie's glasses afterwards is a serious and grave cultural insult btw
Doing good is great, but doing your best is important. My best might be shit, but it's still important that I do it.
Two years ago, my hairdryer started screeching every time I turn it on until I give it a bit of the ol' percussive maintenance. I was a little hesitant to crack the bitch open and see what's wrong so I just decided to use it until it died.
It just lives like this now.
Really loving Palworld tbh. I missed the gravy train on it originally, swore I'd try it on the first major update, and here we are.
My best DMV story is that while the woman checked my papers, it came up that I recently had my gallbladder removed. APPARENTLY... so did she. The whole mood instantly shifted from quiet to vibrant as she lifted her shirt to show me her sutures, and of course, I showed her mine.
Charcuterie is standing in the open fridge door at 2 AM in your underwear stuffing deli meats and cheeses into your mouth, but classy and sophisticated.
So, being a better listener has been a concern of mine for a long time. Something I am VERY proud of is when somebody is telling me a story, they trail off, get distracted, forget where they were at... and then I tell 'em EXACTLY where they left off. It feels like a magic trick.
