basically my thesis statement is that armand can get off on anything so when eric said he hopes daniel will deal out punishment to armand i was like… but he’ll just enjoy that 😭 armand the unpunishable. the only true punishment is ignoring him
and the combination of humiliation + pity really hits for him even if he’s the one feeling sorry for himself and nobody else is. he left lestat’s concert (and probably the bowling alley too) wallowing in how mean danstat were to him then getting off on that dual pleasure
armand has a humiliation and praise kink but since he believes himself to be devoid of anything good (or anything at all) the humiliation turns him on more because it feeds into his self deprecation while praise leaves him needing more and more of it so he can keep
armand because it affirms his self concept as a victim (whether that’s true or not depending on the circumstance doesn’t matter to him with his chronic victim mentality). ntm how pity/sympathy is often expressed in a nurturing and comforting way which armand clearly craves.

i enjoy armand relaying details of daniel’s life to louis like it’s a reality tv show because i know louis got smug as fuck when he detected the first hint of armand finding daniel fascinating and then even more so when the jealousy seeped through.
