Torsten, when you find the fool who: 😱 Voted for 330 pages of employment red tape 😱 Hiked NI costs by £25 billion 😱 Jacked up rates on businesses do be sure to tell them precisely what you think.
Like many people across Swansea Bay, I’m deeply disappointed to learn that Admiral Insurance are to cut 500 jobs from its UK business. I’ve asked for an urgent meeting with the company to talk about what happens next - particularly in Swansea.

We desperately need Opus 5.1 and GPT 6 Sol. Fable 5.1 on a $200 Max plan gives you basically nothing. Session gone in 30 minutes. GPT 6 Astra on a $200 Pro plan is somehow worse. Four accounts, all capped by Tuesday. The best models in the world and neither lab will let you actually use them. Whoever ships the affordable version first wins the builders.

Maybe this is the way to convince normies to let us build more datacenters.
Ass Bench Update 🚨 After running GPT 6 Astra in a loop for the past week, with a couple of steers a day, we have officially reached high-fidelity cheeks. I’m going to let this thing run in a self-improving cycle for as long as I can and see where the ass technology ends up in a month. Lots of different butt styles will be added, so no one is safe. Not even you, Granny. You’ll also be able to support the project and help fund the benching of other models like Fable, Gemini, etc. All it takes is a buck, and you can slap your sticker + website directly onto a cheek. The future of AI benchmarking is here More Soon

Of course we don’t have “leverage”. You, as in the wider political class, made energy here so expensive nobody wants to train models here. Drove away talent with high taxes and artificially inflated property. You can’t complain about the outcomes of your own luxury beliefs.
Britain cannot lead on AI security if our safety institute cannot test the world’s most advanced models before they are released. Reports that Anthropic did not give the @AISecurityInst pre-release access to Claude Mythos 5.1 raise serious questions about whether Britain has the access and leverage it needs. I’ve asked for urgent answers by Tuesday.

Underwhelmed by my Octopus Energy experience so far in the UK. New customer as of c. 3 months ago. Getting a smart meter upgrade (3 phase) is proving no different, and in many ways worse, than dealing with standard utility companies. 2 major issues: 1. Total lack of proactive communication. I have been talking to the engineering teams for weeks to get an appointment in. I have received zero updates other than when I call for an update. I am then told it's "with the relevant team". 2. Glib customer service who talk down to you but using software that cuts out and makes them sound like an AI. Very frustrating and not living up to the "best thing since sliced bread" reputation that they have. @OctopusEnergy can you help at all please?

One of the supposed step-changes with Astra was its ability to just keep going for hours or days on a goal. Is anyone else finding it actually pauses much more readily than Sol? No issues with capability but the usability, when used to an independent workhorse (Sol), is a strong negative.

You’ve had people testing Astra for weeks. It’s ready for selected organisations today. But the people paying for Plus and Pro need to wait a few more days. I genuinely don’t understand the reasoning here
We are starting to release GPT-6 Astra and we are doing it as carefully and quickly as possible. It was very important to us that we bring it to all Plus users and not only Pro, Business and Enterprise. It will take a few days for the rollout to complete and behind the scenes many novel systems will operate at scale for the first time and we are bringing a lot of compute up. It is pure magic. openai.com/index/gpt-6-astra…

Replying to @OpenAI
GPT-6 Astra is rolling out today to a limited set of organizations and over the coming days will become available to all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, as well as through the OpenAI API and AWS. Be ready to experience Astra at its best. Get the ChatGPT desktop app.
