"The initial rollout of the program encouraged children to be invested broadly in American companies. The latest shift ties kids’ wealth building directly to the fate of particular companies, depending on who donates." "Under the rules that took effect last week, charities controlled by wealthy people—with Treasury Department approval—can put individual stocks into the accounts of thousands or millions of children. They can target groups of at least 5,000, sorted by age, geography or both." via @RichardRubinDC @ashleaebeling wsj.com/politics/policy/trum…

Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail. “It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote on Signal, according to messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. “Please.” Read story w/ dream team: @rebeccaballhaus @drewhinshaw @JoeWSJ wsj.com/politics/policy/guil…

Warsh offered a narrow description of what Wednesday's rate increase was meant to do. "We removed a dose of accommodation so that financial and credit conditions would be more consistent with our ultimate objectives," he said. That phrasing ordinarily would suggest officials view policy as still easy even after Wednesday's move. Warsh dismissed that interpretation when asked where rates now stand relative to an unobservable setting that economists think neither spurs nor slows growth. He said the academic concept didn’t translate well into the “decisions that we make today.”
Warsh: "We removed a dose of accommodation."

The Justice Department was preparing to wage a legal battle more than a decade in the making against the world’s largest concert promoter. Then Trump called. Inside the leadup to the Live Nation settlement, where many DOJ officials regarded the political interference as extreme even for an administration in which the White House regularly inserts itself into law-enforcement matters.
