San Francisco has some pretty awesome dive bars.
La Rocca's Corner is my favorite.
Roddy bolted through the door and yelled after me with a big grin on his face, “Wait …you’re Broke-Ass Stuart? Don’t communize me, you leftist piece of s—t!”

San Francisco's oceanfront Great Highway will become the Great Walkway. Car-brained journalists will call this a "closure" but you can just as well call it an opening.

Four people were shot **by the NYPD** over $2.90. Let that sink in.
Call us irresponsible, but we believe riders' lives and safety are worth much more than reckless, broken-windows policing at the turnstile and the senseless violence it instigates.

The NYPD shot two bystanders and their own officer yesterday while policing fare beating. This deeply disturbing incident shows why endlessly relying on more police in subways and harsh crackdowns for minor offenses won't bring true community safety.
Four people were shot by NYPD bullets — including a bystander who was struck in the head — on Sunday afternoon when officers opened fire at a man they say evaded the subway fare and drew a knife in Brooklyn.
The NYPD says as of Monday morning, both that bystander and the suspect are in critical condition.
