MFA is essential. Session security matters too. A successful MFA check does not end the identity-security story. If an attacker steals a valid browser session or authentication token, they may be able to reuse that authenticated session without needing the user’s password or a fresh OTP, depending on the system’s controls. That makes session protection an important part of identity security: alongside MFA, we need secure endpoints, appropriate session lifetimes, monitoring, and effective session revocation.
