🔥 @golang just became the most-used language on @googlecloud. Java is close behind (on raw SDK API requests). Fastest growing? Python, Rust, C++, JS, and C# adding users and SDK requests rapidly. Install the Go SDK (github.com/googleapis/google…), along with Genkit Go, and ADK Go!

I'll try answer Will work with the assumption that we have one endpoint serving this data. I will also assume we have, in front of us a cache. The first thing is pagination. We have options here:
Backend Interview Question: An API needs to serve 1 million users from a database How would you design the endpoint to handle this efficiently at scale?

Borrowing from Temporal & Spatial locality: I'll cache the next page of results and re-cache this with a slightly longer ttl. The next page might have a slightly shorter ttl. This way, the first request might hit the disk, but after that, mostly memory.

Caching could be on multiple levels, HTTP caching, carefully, can be leveraged. Though you do this conditionally. Etag headers, last modified etc.

One day.
In 2017, I started learning Go, mostly from curiosity. After working some years for Mattermost, I learnt enough to start sharing that knowledge with the community. Today I’m honored to share that I’ve been recognized as a @GoogleDevExpert in Go. This wouldn’t have happened without a lot of people involved in my own process, from the extremely welcoming Go community, to my companies, @kaleidosnet, @Mattermost, @ona_hq, and now @VictoriaMetrics, that has been always supportive and helping me to contribute back to the community. The GDE program is about sharing knowledge, so, there is not going to change much from my side, except that I'll have even more support to keep sharing with you what I learn in Go. #golang #GoogleDeveloperExpert #GDE #Go

Yesterday a not so sharp boy decided to test for us the number of requests our server can handle per second, running a python script. He was probably so pissed when the app wasn't going down cause the infra is optimised af😂
