Friends, I am so excited to share with you my new venture- meet findaltitude.com
Altitude Public Affairs does two things, and does them well: Winning Campaigns + Bold Strategic Communications. +
For all the shit people gave about the Bradford campaign using AI (which was complete garbage)….
Glad to be using AI for a good cause. Good luck to all your editor’s inboxes @KindaHagi.
Don’t worry, I’ll be doing the proactive outreach work as well!
real talk @BradMBradford, you ran a hell of a race. it’s prob hard to not have really dark thoughts but please know you are alone and you should give into them
Guess it’s always a great day when your *paid consultant* becomes the star witness in a story published the day before an election, without the opposing campaign ever being given an opportunity to respond.
So yes, “impeccable explainer” indeed!
Thanks to @mahdishabibinia for her impeccable explainer on the @BradMBradford campaign promise to privatize Toronto's water. Thanks to her & @TorontoStar for putting journalistic integrity ahead of sleazy & transparent attacks. #keepwaterpublic

My MO? I guess I'm a stickler for accurate reporting. The story said Metrolinx is a public-private partnership. It's not. Neither is the Canada Investment Bank, btw. The legal expert cited was commissioned by CUPE to provide an opinion for a political action campaign about this topic and that wasn't mentioned, I thought it should be.
And the story still says the law "does not explicitly outlaw" private ownership. It does. Section 9(2) says shares "shall not be issued to any person other than a municipality, the Province of Ontario, the Government of Canada or an agent of any of them." Section 9(3) bars transfer to anyone else. Section 9.1 bars transferring the assets.
That's sincerely not smearing anyone. I had/have a good working rapport with the reporter. I went to her and the editors before posting anything publicly to give them the chance to update their story. The Star posted this story with inaccuracies the day before an election without asking us for comment. What would you have suggested we do?
I’ll be keeping a running record of your stories and making sure every editor you ever deal with sees this post.
Saying this to another human isn’t edgy commentary. It’s sick, twisted & evil. It’s political intimidation.
Worth reading s. 241(1)(a) of Canada’s Criminal Code.

The sun rises, the morning comes, and so ends another campaign.
There will no doubt be plenty of analysis, hot takes, and opinions in the days ahead. I’m not sure there’s enough whisky in the world to keep up with it all, so I think I’ll sit this one out. But I do have a few thoughts.
To @BradMBradford: I’d go to war for you any day. The grace and class you showed in your concession speech last night offered just a glimpse of the truly outstanding human being you are. You are, without question, the hardest-working candidate I’ve ever worked for. Not once did I doubt that your heart was in the right place or that you were the right man for the job. It was an honour to serve you, and is an even greater honour to call you a friend.
They say you should never meet your heroes. Well, I got to work alongside quite a few of mine. People I’ve spent years admiring, learning from, and looking up to. To have had the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with this team was an opportunity I'll always be grateful for. An extraordinary group of people, and one I’d stand in the trenches with again without blinking.
And finally, Toronto. This is an incredible city, and it deserves nothing short of greatness. I believe that when you look at the dial of a world-time watch, Toronto should be right there alongside the greatest cities on earth, not just in name - but in ambition, opportunity, and achievement.
That potential hasn't gone anywhere. Realizing it will take all of us, regardless of who we supported in this election. I know the people who made up Team Bradford will step forward and contribute constructively and productively into building this city up. I know I certainly will.
Congratulations to Team Chow on their victory. Cheers to the city we all love.
Wyatt Claypool lecturing anyone on how to win votes is pretty rich coming from a guy whose own fringe lunatic party couldn’t crack 1% at the ballot box.
Toronto may have not elected Brad last night, but at least they knew he existed. Which we can’t say for any of Wyatt’s candidates. Ever.
Maybe sit this one out?
As an Albertan with no skin in the game in Toronto can someone tell me what Brad Bradford even ran on???
Chow is awful, but I had no clue what Bradford's entire reason for being in the race was other than he was the main not-Chow candidate.
I was even initially interested in Chris Alexander entering the race for a couple months simply because I hoped he would run on ANYTHING, but he proved to also have no clue why he was there and dropped out.
But with Bradford I never detected any reason for voters to want to run out the door to go vote for him.
Chow sucks and replacing her with anybody would be a welcome change but replacing a bad incumbent is only 50% of a reason a voter goes to vote.
Bradford seemed to forget the other 50% - A reason why you should really want him to be mayor.
Maybe I'm missing something and he was super exciting to a lot of Torontoians but I never saw it.
Oh I’m going to have so much fun with this loser tomorrow.

Half an hour left, Toronto.
If you haven’t yet - go vote now!
Vote for a city we can be proud of.
“Has Toronto reached its full potential?”
That was asked on the debate stage a few weeks ago.
Olivia Chow believes this is as good as it gets.
Brad Bradford believes we have so much more untapped potential to unlock.
Now, you get to make the choice with your vote.

I just voted for change in Toronto.
If you are tired of being told to accept a city in decline then you have 9 more hours to get out and vote as well.
Olivia Chow is a nice person but not up to the job.
Vote for Brad Bradford to bring about the change this city needs.
Change is in the air, Toronto!
Let's get this done and build a city we can be proud of.
Vote @BradMBradford.

If you want to change the city, you have to vote to change the Mayor, today.
Polls are open 10am - 8pm today.

Brad Bradford sounds like a Mayor.
Olivia Chow sounds like she’s scared to lose. And now she’s trying to scare you.
But it won’t work. Torontonians are smarter than that.
They’re not scared. They’re ready for change.

Midtown is ready for change.
Thank you MP @lesliechurch , MP @vgasparro , MPP @stephaniesmyth and former councillor @KarenStintz for your support to get Toronto moving.
We can make sure Toronto unlocks its full unbounded potential.
We can fix what’s stuck. And get our city firing on all cylinders.
But to change the city, you need to vote to change the mayor tomorrow.
Let’s get this city unstuck and make history, Toronto.
METROLINX IS 100% OWNED BY THE PROVINCE.
THE CANADA INFRASTRUCTURE BANK IS 100% OWNED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA.
THIS KIND OF THING WAS TAUGHT IN BASIC CIVICS.
Thanks @TorontoStar & @mahdishabibinia for this insightful piece clarifying @BradMBradford's & @fordnation's path to water privatization: "What qualifies as 'an agent' could be a private company, a public-private partnership like Metrolinx or the Canada Infrastructure Bank, which facilitates private investment in infrastructure projects." thestar.com/gift-redeem?t=e9…

The purpose of change.
Change is something you feel. Change is something you earn. It’s a bold declaration that the status quo isn’t good enough and that our best days lie ahead.
Change is a city that moves. Change is taxes that don’t. Change is a city where you feel safe.
That is possible. We’re on the cusp of it. But that change is only possible with your vote.
Because if you want to change the city, tomorrow you have to vote to change the mayor.
Vote for Brad Bradford.
