"if you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the whole universe" — carl sagan if india wants to become a semiconductor juggernaut, we must build all aspects of the chip ecosystem - design, tooling, fabrication, chemicals, process engineering - a bottleneck to all of which is talent junction is one step toward fixing this talent gap if you're a college student who is deeply obsessed with these problems, apply now!
Launching Junction: come speed-run the semiconductor tech tree this December in Bangalore. We’re flying in students from all over India 🇮🇳 to a 2-week fabrication retreat at @_lagrangepoint to build equipment, design chips and engineer processes, with our friends at @hackerfabindia. India still needs thousands of semicon engineers -- the ecosystem to produce them isn’t mature enough yet -- we're changing that. Current applicants have built vacuum chambers to study plasma physics, RISC-V processors from scratch, scanning tunneling microscopes, et cetera At junction you will: 1. Propose a project 2. Figure out a plan with the Junction team. 3. Iterate fast towards a working prototype, with help from the Junction team 4. Be mentored by top semiconductor hackers and specialists. 5. Demo to industry leaders, founders, investors, and your fellow craftspeople Flights, accommodation and project expenses? All covered. Apply on the link below

every product i use should just be a headless mcp, that feeds into an agent, where i never have to think about anything underneath. except for our product, of course. in our product, customers love the ui and love us very much. we're special that way.

there’s a moment when all high school / college kids who have grown up on American tv shows and movies meet the real Indian corporate world and go wtf - this is why
Kiwi Farms user breaks down 'Izzat', the Indian subcontinent's cultural honor system. It effectively explains every single trope about Indian behavior: they all participate in an invisible clout-chasing game that involves screwing over everyone as much as possible. Worth the read

you can just do things ft. @usefaff best thing i read today! high agency + willingness to get things done + faff. @dhumchikdish, @curlsondaboard, team faff, and ofc faff itself are heroes. we have to celebrate this. we need more heroes. the city needs you now! no complaining, no cribbing. just get things done. anyone can just do things. everyone wants the best for bangalore.
new fav personal assistant use case unlocked! i was annoyed that the roads near my house in HSR were dug up for MONTHS making it hard to even walk and it felt like there's nothing i could do about it! early sept i asked faff to find a way to flag this to the authorities...

can confirm Faff fixes roads. not sure if they accomplish this by pestering the BBMP or by sending @curlsondaboard with a barrel or tar in the middle of the night. Either way the intersection outside my gym is now less of a death trap - navigable even with shaky post leg day legs!

for the folks doing same or planning to do, here are few tips: - don’t get dependent on RTI updates only - figure out your ward and visit nearest BBMP office - meet with regional AEE and have a proper chat to expedite - explain the road situation and share RTI numbers - keep following on weekly basis to get latest updates - you can get relevant numbers from iknowaguy.help/bangalore/ (made by @Virendra0698) and if you don’t want to do all this, you can just @usefaff

The real tragedy of living in a third-world country is that you can do everything right and still struggle because the environment is designed to make ordinary things unnecessarily difficult.
