I see this as an evolution:
Tech: (1) SSO+MFA, (2) automated (de)+provisioning (esp JML), (3) effective access monitoring (for PoLP)
Process: (1) manage JML and birthright, (2) manage non birthrights as roles, (3) apply least privilege (start by you don't use it you lose it)
